"We had a fantastic stay at De Bergkant in late July. The setting and surrounding view was stunning. We were greeted by Tracey who was manager and head chef. She could not have been more helpful. She provided recommendations on things to do in Prince Albert and places to eat, even made our dinner reservations for us. The rooms and the grounds were clean and comfortable. One of the highlights of our stay was breakfast. Tracey prepared a varied 5 course breakfast each morning that could only be...
"Heather (a/c unit) wasn't functioning well and nights were freezing. We reported that but nothing was done. 3 nights of suffering. Although the place is amazing - freezing nights without heating are not worth it. Leaving the fireplace on at night is not an option.
Also, originally we booked 2 nights and couldn't get to add a third night so ended up booking another night separately. As a result we were charged twice for the cleaning fee. We asked for a refund and were refused. They didn't even...
"From the welcome we received to the farewell the level of personal service we received from the owners Albert and Elsa were unparalleled.
Very tastefully decorated, spotless and in a beautiful location overlooking the river. We only stayed one night but will definitely return and stay longer. Loved our stay."
"The most wonderful and unique stay of our whole South Africa trip. Staff were excellent and a shout out to Elton our game driver who was so knowledgeable and we will cherish our pre-breakfast game drive memories forever! We were a family of 4 and our young boys loved it."
"Charming rustic setting on a riverfront. Conveniently located just a couple of blocks from shopping and restaurants. Free onsite parking. Friendly, helpful owner/operator. Excellent full breakfast with fresh homemade bread, cooked to order. Many extra touches that made this an excellent choice and made us wish that we could have stayed longer."
"The hotel has just been taken over and is under going changes
Breakfast in the adjoining hotel was delicious
The new owner is attentive and understood our concerns"
"Sehr gutes Frühstück, Abendessen gut aber viel zu teuer. Service ok, ein sehr engagierter Kellner ist für 30 Gäste einfach zu wenig. 2 deutsche Reisegruppen haben die sonst sicher entspannte Atmosphäre etwas durcheinandergebracht. Trotzdem vielen Dank an Superman John für seine Bemühungen "

"Great place and a Lovely room!! But the check in felt a little weird/very rushed. The manager showed us the apartment and explained everything in like 1 minute. It was alot to take in and remember and he talked very fast so I had to ask again several times... It felt like he was in a hurry and that in turn made us feel unwelcome. Very weird customer service. But the place was lovely in a great quiet place with gorgeous surroundings."
"Beautifully kept grounds. The Glamping tent was a perfect balance of camping with the “luxuries “ of staying in a hotel room like a/c , a bath tub and tv although it was only a couple if channels and the wifi was spotty at best. But you are camping in between mountains after all! Staff is helpful and friendly even though we had a problem connecting through the expedia platform they were very accommodating. My tent room was clean and well stocked with coffee, tea, cream and sugar as well as a...
"loved this location and luxury tent... the restaurant itself is a little bit gloomy ( too much dark wood for my liking) but the staff were super friendly and accomodating .. and you are there for the views and tranquility not the cordon blue cooking- ill be back "
