"The hotel was very nice, with included onsen which was a bonus (note there is an extra ¥150/person bathing tax for the onsen on top of the booking fee). The staff was very kind and helpful. I only have 2 minor complaints: 1) the room is VERY dated (but it is still clean and comfortable), and 2) they charged me ¥1000 for parking, but didn’t even take down my license plate or give me a pass or anything, which suggests I could have just parked there for free anyways (since I assume this means they...

"We had an excellent stay at this hotel. The location is just a few minutes away from the bus station. About a 15 minute walk to Sanmachi area. They provided yukatas for us to wear. The bath was nice and relaxing. We enjoyed our Japanese traditional breakfast. The staff were excellent and attentive. We would recommend staying here if visiting Takayama! "

"What a treat. We were wanting to stay up near the ropeway but that was closed for repairs and the spots near there were full. I bumped into this spot on line and it felt like a secret treasure. "This is a wonderful place to spend a few days. The ryokan is very authentically Japanese. The staff was helpful wherever we needed them. The food Is good, though our best meals were in restaurants in Takayama. Most of all, the hot springs are AWESOME. The water is so thick with minerals, so rich. We didn’t want to leave."

"Came here with my husband and mother. A little sad that there was no view surrounding this ryokan. Unlike the ones I stayed in while I was in Hakone and Sapporo. This inn is small and has limited facilities (but it is enough.) Room was spacious and the futon was very comfortable to sleep in, staffs helped prepare the futons for us to rest efficiently.
