Medina - Chefchaouen, Morocco It is known for the blue washed walls and doorways in the old city. Narrow alleys, cobbled walkways, stairs up and down, leading in all directions. Jewish teachings suggest that by dyeing thread with tekhelel (an ancient natural dye) and weaving it into prayer shawls, people would be reminded of God's power. The tradition lives on in the regularly repainted blue buildings. The walls are adorned with carpets, purses, blankets, paintings and much more. It was quite an adventure to get lost in the tiny lanes and alleys and discover the many berber shops and products. #FindingtheUniverse

"It’s sad to see a hotel like this in such a terrible state. It almost looks abandoned from outside, very low maintenance of the amenities. However, the location is great, close to the Kasbah and old Medina, staff very friendly, breakfast is very nice, great view from the room’s balcony. The hotel needs some serious renovation though. It deserves better."
