"The resort is surrounded by nature, very quiet and peaceful - perfect if that’s what you’re looking for. It can be a bit inconvenient without a car, but there’s a bus stop right in front of the hotel that runs at specific times and goes to the nearest train station, Shiojiri. "A really old-fashioned Japanese onsen experience like nothing else. We ate in the Japanese restaurant one night and French the other evening. The food was fantastic. Rooms were comfortable but old fashioned. I would highly recommend the room with a private onsen - we saw tanuke (Japanese raccoon dogs) approach whilst we were bathing which was a really special experience. We hiked to the ridge (5 hours return) through a beautiful forest."
