It is showing its age however, but we still had a wonderful experience, with my husband celebrating his birthday at dinner where the staff made his night very special. The staff are excellent and we thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay. "

"There was a bath without a screen instead of a shower. A large dead cockroach in the bathroom. Lights outside the bedroom window that were not switched off. Naked, exposed wiring where the switch for the bedside lamp should be ( I could have electrocuted myself reaching for the switch at night!). Very noisy water pipes from 3am. The bed was clean and comfortable but the roach had spoiled it all."

"Our time at Abelana was the BEST! With all the friendship from John & Marge (and all the staff). It was most definitely not only the best South African Experience but also the best human experience with all the great times we spent there that made it so special. From the moment we were greeted at the reserve's gate and at the main lobby through our entire stay we encountered attention to every detail and a lovely care towards us.
