"Room was large and beds very comfortable. Hot water ran out in the morning so cold shower for friend. Food was varied and tasty at breakfast and evening meal. Lovely bar serving a variety of drinks and cocktails. Staff very friendly and helpful"

"A very nice property although a bit run down, need of update including furnitures, we arrived late in the evening and found it very cold room we had to turn electric fire on and left it on right through the night, the food is average, no local shops near by, so you will need tuk tuk, staff are great, friendly and very helpful. Location was good a bit outside of the busy Ella town. Quiet and peaceful. Only negative thing was that the walls to our room were very thin so we had to use earplugs to sleep, but it was ok for us :)"

"Really beautiful view and lovely location, even with the occasional train passing by (if anything, it added to the charm). Very kind and helpful hosts, who loaned their umbrellas to us and accommodated our last minute change of breakfast time when we were running late from a morning hike. They also packed our breakfast to go when we checked out early on our last day. Walking along the train tracks is by far the best way to get to town and back in under 10 minutes. The paved road is quite windy...

"The room and balcony were excellent. I particularly liked the tea-making facilities in the room. The quality and selection of food in the evening and breakfast buffets was also very good, and the staff if anything were too attentive. Check-in was very lengthy but we appreciated the hot chocolate while we waited. The worst thing about the hotel is its location, about 3 miles from town. Even though we stayed over the Sinhalese new year, the whole place was strangely lacking in atmosphere -...
