"So that we're on the same page here, Yogyakarta sucks. You can't walk anywhere, not even really one block from the hotel. The air is dirty from the millions of scooters and there's not much to do outside of the two big temples far out of town. Given that as the baseline, the Gaia Cosmo is a decent hotel. Our room was nice and quiet and the lobby is nice. The staff is friendly and accommodating. They do serve this stomach-churning gross Asian breakfast buffet that smells so strong. I would stay...

"Great hotel with really helpful staff. Clean and spacious rooms and great rooftop pool and bar. Good location for visiting Java culture and history sites - Borobudur and Prambanan Temples, and Sultan's Palace are essential visits, as is Jalan Malioboro. Walkable for local shopping malls, and for the wonderful House of Raminten restaurant. Great breakfast with lots of variety. Kind and friendly staff were very helpful throughout the stay."

"I was disappointed for the housekeeping to throw my face soap yo the dustbin. They should have known that they can not throw anything except what it is inside the dustbin. First time that I knew, I complained to the receptionist but slow response until I called them again. Room and condition is OK but I feel insecure if they can throw everything outside dustbin with any assumption. I will not stay in this hotel again."

"The hotel itself was great. The rooms were clean and spacious. Breakfast buffet was fantastic - so many options. The location was a bit far from the centre and the neighbourhood was not great. "I relocated here because I was disappointed with another nearby hotel. I stayed about five days and it was really good. Definitely a well-run business with friendly and helpful staff.
