"We had a wonderful stay at this hotel! It was raining when we arrived and we were able to check in early. The staff are so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and a decent size. The breakfast was excellent. Best of all were the indoor and outdoor onsens, with views of Mt. Fuji.Its located next to the train station and lots of dining options. I highly recommend this hotel."

It is a little out of the way but the hotel provides a free shuttle to and from the train station and a free hourly shuttle to the nearby town which is absolutely fabulous. The grounds are just beautiful and the view from the room is honestly better than any other vantage point we could find. Thank you so so much!"

"Stayed at Gora Kadan for one night We arrived in Gora from Tokyo mid morning & spent the time until 3pm check in exploring the area, We had a wonderful stay, looked after extremely well by Shuto who also served our evening meal in our room in true Rokyan style Dinner was outstanding, our dietary requirements were so well taken care of, each dish was exquisite Breakfast was also delicious & served in our room by Shuto Our room was spacious, & had an outdoor private onsen, so relaxing to sit in...

Sadly not 5-stars because expedia markets this hotel for 2-6 people per room, but when you book a room, it only does so for 2, and on arrival you have to pay to have the other 4 stay as well. "

"Very nice boutique hotel. Staff are friendly, eager to help and speak English well. Parking is attached and free. Hotel lobby, restaurant and common areas are very well designed, modern and tasteful with many nice details. Room is super comfortable and feels luxurious and spacious. Nice view to ocean and a sculptural park. Dining is very very good. Besides the great food, restaurant staff are amazing! The onsen is nice and clean. "Everything on Fufu Hakone was excellent except the spa and massage. I booked the recommended spa & massage package of 120 minutes costing 20,000 Yen, but was only given the service of 75 minutes including changing time, bathing and sand spa which lasted 25 minutes, the massage was only 50 minutes. I felt I was being short changed after the session and raised question to the massage lady without any acceptable answer. "
