"The room was lovely, clean and had a very comfortable bed. Wifi was not working. The sink was blocked. No heating was working in the room. The phone was not working to call reception about problems. Overpriced for what we received. I was planning to book a couple of weeks later in the year for work, but without wifi I wouldn't be able to. The response I received was that it's a big place to provide wifi for every room. I've stayed in better hotels for less cost."
"What a beautiful small hotel with the most helpful and respectful staff. Traditional lounge with real fire was so nice to come back to on a cold October evening. Fantastic breakfast offering cooked to your exact requirements. The room was very welcoming with lots of small but welcome additions to make your stay more comfortable. "Big disappointment. With a change of ownership, new management and an extensive refurbishment, this expensive hotel should be a joy. It was a bit of a joke and the staff agreed.
The room:
We stayed in the annex. No cold water for three days! Maintenance agreed the tap was broken but that was the extent of efforts to resolve it. One small bottle of water each was the solution for drinking and cleaning teeth.

"There is no staff present and the hosts don't reply when you email them. The rooms are cozy and clean but not sound proof. Breakfast is provided along with fresh eggs but there's no way to cook them other than in a microwave. The bathroom has a tub and a handheld shower, impossible for anyone to shower without wetting the entire bathroom. The bathroom sink is little more than a birdbath. No fan or ventilation other than opening the front door."

The service was faultless at both dinner and breakfast. The food at dinner was very good . Breakfast food was good quality but was very overcooked. We enjoyed our stay."
