"Very nice stay at Knockranny House, the Grande Deluxe Room Room we booked was huge, quiet and very comfortable. Great location, only a short walk from Westport town and gorgeous views over the town and Croagh Patrick. Lovely pool and sauna/ steam room to use during the stay"
"We had a nice large room with a bathtub which was quite nice. Geo large beds as well. However the cold water faucet did not work in our bathroom. The bathroom door also did not close and latch. The door was pretty beaten up at the bottom as well. Just needs some maintenance. I wanted to use the pool but the blaring music in the gym was a turn off for me doing that. The breakfast was ok. They said here were hot food options to get made to order but no one who waited on us even offered or told...
"Stayed 6 nights everything was great clean ,quiet beautiful dining room - bar ,great selection at breakfsst rooms spotless great prices highly reccomend"
"Really pretty hotel. Room was very clean and comfortable (signature room 311 on 3rd floor. It had a nice seating area in a turret. Breakfast was quite good with lots of options. We only ate dinner in the bar not the fancy restaurant and the food was okay though a bit salty. we felt service was a bit haughty which was unexpected as everyone on our trip has been so welcoming. Maybe they just don't like Americans here as the front desk staff was dismissive on separate occasions. Even so, I...
"The property has been maintained as a castle based hotel since the 1970’s. The castle interior furnishings and appointments are unique. You have to see it to believe it. It was amazing. The original owner who took over the property from the county spent a tremendous amount of time bringing nautical themed interior furnishings. Also plenty of old Irish castle charm such as suits of armor remain. The room #2 we stayed in was large and elegantly furnished. The private bath was totally...
"The staff were super nice and helpful. We were a little disappointed in the state of the hotel as it looks a little run down. The pictures make it look nicer than it is. Our bathroom had a broken tile, and the shower layout was tight for one person and got water all over the floor.
We paid for a seaweed bath which wasn’t bad. I wouldn’t say it was worth the money. We were able to use the hot tub and sauna for free because we purchased one of the bath treatments but they charge $30 for anyone...
"Noreen and Michael were excellent hosts who were willing to go the extra step to make our stay special and made us feel at home straight away. Thoroughly enjoyed the continental breakfast which set us up for the day's adventure. The BnB is an easy 10 minute walk into town to enjoy some local food, drink and music."
"This b&b is amazing not only is the house itself beautiful but the owners are very nice and have wonderful suggestions for dinning options. The breakfast was delicious. "
"Taking a short break in Mayo, following a wedding. Wonderful peaceful location, superb Irish breakfast. Friendly, charming, helpful and informative host. Wifi available, but no TV in room which didn't worry us in the slightest - just encouraged us to switch off. Easy reach of Westport and Newport, but extensive roadworks and contraflow on the road into Westport were a minor inconvenience. Finding a table at a restaurant for dinner locally can be challenging notwithstanding plethora of...
