"We stayed for just one night, on our way to Orkney. The hotel was fine. We got a family room as it listed two bedrooms. In fact, it was two rooms with no door between them. I should have looked at at the reviews or called the hotel directly. Having failed to do so, I did not get a good nights sleep, listening to my family member snore. The hotel is definitely in an old building - charming, but it could do with some touchups. The included breakfast with a nice amenity though, I do wish they had...

"Booked this Hotel last minute after leaving our filthy room at Premier Inn East. Staff were very nice, hotel is basic but ok for a night, the carpet had a large stain which looked like spilled coffee, the radiator made a noise all night, the window wasn’t a sound deadening type and let in road traffic noise, there was a spoon and build up of dust behind the radiator. The bed was comfortable and the shower was fine."

"Several heads down staff were anything but helpful. Older woman at checkin was unhelpful and heads down most of the time . Sad to see this historically friendly hotel now staffed by a number of very unimpressive people. Older women at dinner and younger professional woman at breakfast being the exception."

"Disappointing - this was not a "castle like" building. At first glance it looked pretty great (once we found it - google maps sent us across the roadway), but reception was stationed at the bar; not the reception desk. Okay... crisps were 2£ for each wee bag at the bar. The restaurant was not open for dinner on Sunday or Monday... given the VERY out of the way location we this was problematic. The king's suite only had a double bed... not even a queen. The shower didn't drain and required...

"We stayed in the Oak Suite. Was amazing. Loved the little reading nook. Front Desk staff were very friendly and helpful. Food was good. Incredible view from property, and loved the little museum on property that showed the Davidson Clan history."

"Water pressure can be low but otherwise a great stay."

"Food was fabulous!! The staff was helpful and our was clean."

"Warm welcome on arrival and a free upgrade o a lovely room. The room was clean and had everything we needed for our comfort and convenience. Breakfast was fantastic and the staff in the dining room very friendly and helpful. Had two meals in Chaplins restaurant and all 4 of us enjoyed our meals, again the staff member was friendly and helpful. We were a party of four and had two rooms and everyone was happy and enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you for the upgrades much appreciated. Would...

"We booked this stay as we planned to do some touring in the highlands. We are so grateful we did. Nairn is a wonderful small town with great people, without the bustle of Inverness. Our hosts were incredible and the property was truly 5 stars! The à la carte breakfast in the morning was a surprise and was delicious. An awesome start to the day! Room was massive and well appointed. Plenty of parking and close to several points of interest. Would absolutely return to see more of what Nairn has to...

"One of the best hotels we've ever stayed at. The hospitality is bar none and the experience is ethereal. You can almost image the days leading up to the battle of 1746 unfold walking through the halls and the grounds. Lots of delightful surprises I won't spoil that make the experience unique and special from music, to gardens, to the hospitality."
