"The hotel and grounds are wonderful, particularly in high summer when the gardens and floral scents from the herbs are wonderful. The location is peaceful and calming and the old Abbey grounds give an aura of protection given a high boundary stone wall surrounding the site. The architecture both old and new fit well together and the quality of finish is very high. The complementary coffee or tea on arrival is a nice touch and the glass water bottles to reduce plastic waste is a nice touch that...
"The hotel was excellent. The personal very helpful. It's position is perfect for the chateau, need your walking shoes. Parking opposite the hotel is easy outside working hours and is free.
I would recommend it to anyone. The area around the hotel is full of bars and restaurants. Overall can't fault it."

"The hotel and staff were excellent. Our room was clean and comfortable with excellent air conditioning. Great walk-in shower. We opted to reserve a parking space and to order breakfast - both good decisions. The staff were friendly, welcoming, helpful, and professional. The town of Azay-le-Rideau is charming with many small shops. We're looking forward to returning."
"Charming hotel in a unique position with excellent access to the main square for dining and shopping. The bar and breakfast room are lovely.
Staff all friendly and also helpful when necessary eg our kettle didn’t work. (Quickly replaced). Our bathroom sliding door seemed to be missing a handle but forgot to mention as it did have a recessed finger pull.
Saumur was an amazing place and we really enjoyed our short stay on the way back to Caen to catch the ferry home.

"This was amazing! We were the only guests in the whole place on our one night stay. Lovely refreshments on arrival. Excellent explanation of amenities etc. Breakfast was fabulous as was the room, jacuzzi bath and extremely comfortable bed. Fascinating to read about the history of this Château.
There were limited dining options in the nearby town on a Wednesday evening. I wish we'd got a picnic from the nearby intermarche and enjoyed the luxurious surroundings. We'll be back!! Make sure you look...
