"The location within a sanctuary is extraordinary BUT the 2 bar/ restaurants close about 6 and there’s only the hotel bar/restaurant. So if you want a bit of an evening out you must drive.
Also, you can park very early or late but literally thousands of people come during the day so returning to the hotel with a car is impossible.
We visited in August, so may be different other times of the year.
Hotel is beautiful and the sanctuary with the Basilica and grotto very atmospheric-

"Good location for walking to restaurants and jumping on the freeway to get to other cities. Staff was very helpful. Place was clean but needs some upgrades for the price. Wall paper is literally peeling off the walls in rooms and the glassed in atrium that appears to have been 4 different reflection pools needs to be cleaned and filled with plants or removed all together. It’s the first thing you see when you jump on the glassed in elevator. The spa was dirty and a real disappointment. We booked...
"It’s a really unusual and unique place with stunning views of the mountains. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The restaurant has lovely food. We had a lovely suite with a large window seat.
The drive up is quite difficult as we had a larger vehicle. It would be good to advise guests of this in advance and/or provide an option at the bottom of the village lanes for parking.
All in all we had a very memorable stay."
