"This is a nice hotel with comfortable modern air-conditioned rooms for travelers. The bathroom was adequate, although we wished for a shower door in addition to a glass partition. The location just on the other side of the river from the older city gave us broad views of the riverfront and the cathedral beyond. "We hadn't stayed here before and it had been a long time since we'd been in Scarborough so didn't really have any expectations. We were 'upgraded' to a sea view room on the 4th floor but this is a 19th Century building so don't expect palatial. Everything was clean but tired but this is reflected in the price. The communal areas are stunning. The room wasn't serviced but we were only there 2 nights so that wasn't a problem and reception happily supplied us with more tea/coffee/milk. The Spa bath...

"Hotel car park was full. By phone, hotel receptionist recommended nearby NCP carpark. It would have been useful to have had this information in the welcome letter. The NCP carpark was fairly convenient and secure."
