"Nice building, although a noisy bar/nightclub is on the corner so bare that in mind.
The room photos were not representative of what we got.
Upgraded to the "courtyard suite" fairly disappointed by the standard of the rooms. Bathrooms are of a standard I'd expect in cheap rental property, generally poor quality.
The door to the "private" courtyard didn't have a lock, on 2 occasions after leaving the room we came back to find the door slightly open.
Staff were nice
Breakfast was passable...
"The room 214 was beautiful but unfortunately next to the kitchen extractor vent which kept going all night very loud
The staff said it couldn’t be turned off
It would stop for 10 minutes then start off again It needs to be addressed
If not in that room it would all have been fine"
"Friendly and helpfull staff. Lovely breakfast. nice grounds and easy parking. Room was clean but a tad dated,as were other parts of the building. Stair carpets to first floor badly worn."
"this place was good for 1 night only; the food left lots to be desired,
The evening meal was very disappointing. The breakfast was dreadful; the eggs were so overcooked they were crisp on the bottom and all around the edges. The staff were somewhat laid-back. I would not recommend this place to anyone."
"Convenient overnight stop when visiting our daughter. Car park is large but there are lots of larger vehicles that double park making it tight for others. It's clean, comfortable bed, good shower but you can hear everything from surrounding rooms...sneezing, coughing, burping, snoring, use your imagination!!"
"I found this pub when looking for a room with a hot tub for one night away. It’s in a very quiet place with nice scenery.
We received a very warm welcome from friendly, pleasant staff. We found all staff very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.
The room was spacious and very clean with everything we needed. Towels, robes, fan, tea and coffee making facility, secluded garden which was not overlooked and a hot tub. The bed was very comfortable.
Food was cooked to order and very tasty....
"Stayed here a few days for a personal retreat, to have a nice quiet place to sit and work, in pleasant surroundings. This place was perfect for that. Ticked all my boxes: parking, en-suite bathroom, desk in room. There is a common area with microwave oven and cutlery and plates/bowls and tea/coffee (there is tea/coffee and kettle in the room anyway), so I never ran out of hot drinks. The view outside my window was very pleasant - a green field sloping up to some houses in the distance. Just what...
"Lovely, attentive staff who made me feel welcome. Unfortunately, the shower was positioned under the eaves of the roof, meaning anyone over 5ft 5in had to bend down to use it. There was also a power cut from 7am until 8:50am, and I was disappointed that no apology or acknowledgement was offered the following morning. A simple apology would have been a nice gesture."
"I wanted to know if they could give me a room with a shower tray. No reply.
I needed to cancel due to illness and then neither I could get hold of them. As a result I had to pay for a hotel I could not use.
Expedia were unable to sort out this issue.
Such poor communication means I will not use this hotel ever.
I also am disappointed Expedia could not get the hotel to agree to basic customer service like being responsive to customer enquiries"
"We had a wonderful stay at the Pembroke Arms. It’s set in a beautiful location and was the ideal base for exploring Salisbury. The food was fantastic and the service was impeccable from start to finish. Our room was absolutely gorgeous — beautifully decorated, comfortable and full of character. We really couldn’t fault our stay and would definitely return."
"Unique room in a converted 1885 wagon was fun! But pretty rustic, don't expect big luxury.
No toiletries (soap) were provided, but there were towels.
The pub has good pizza!"
