"The reception, house and dining staff were lovely. However the room was dated and in need of some investment in the building fabric. Windos propt open with wooden dowels, taps you have to rotate a few times before you get any meaningful water out (both hot and cold). The mixer tap in the bath for showers had a nut missing to hold the handle from coming off in your hand. Same problem with getting water as per the sink. No thermostat control so temperature fluctuates constantly. Fan in the room...

"My family stayed in 2 superior rooms for one night. There is no lift so luggage has to be carried up the stairs. Room 14 was on the first floor and huge, room 30 was on the second floor and slightly smaller. The shower was over the bathtub with a curtain. "The information regarding parking is misleading, as the ad suggests that parking is free, or included in the rate charged. The reality on arrival is very different, being presented with a nightly charge which must be paid on arrival. The suggestion that there is a full restaurant service is similarly misleading as, though the kitchen will supply a burger in the evening, which is a meat sandwich, they will not make you a fish finger sandwich, despite that being on the menu, as that is apparently...

"A good and cost-effective service station hotel. Ask for a room to the rear for more quiet! McDonald’s, Leon, Costa, TG Jones and a breakfast place(Chozen after 11am) mean there are plenty of good, quick eating options too. The room was clean and spacious, if a little dated in places, and served us just fine for an overnight stay for a night out in Newport."
