"Reasonably clean property but there seemed to be a lot of corners being cut. Checked in at around 10:30 pm after a long cross country flight. There were no sheets on the sofa bed or the comforter pack in either of the two rooms we booked, so we dealt with that.
Next morning went in for a shower and the shampoo was all empty - nothing at all.
Went downstairs and there were no glasses for water.
Overall it is a clean property but has a lot of quality issues in their service. And the staff...
"Beautiful hotel with everything you might need including easy parking. Front desk staff was very welcoming and offered a map of local area. Clean and well maintained facility. Easy walk to downtown with restaurants and shopping options. Room was very nice with comfortable bed and amenities - very clean."
"Breakfast was wonderful, property was clean and the staff was very pleasant and helpful. Stayed for 2 nights and we loved every minute of it. I was a HIE girl until now, I well be changing to Hampton."
"This is a beautiful property. Room was very clean. The view of the bay from the balcony was breathtaking. The staff was super friendly and helpful. Breakfast was outstanding with made to order eggs and pumpkin pancakes or French toast. We will definitely return to this location."
"Loved the location, the staff and the restaurant was wonderful. I could have been more attentive to the room I was booking which was on the lower level - Family room - in the cottage. Great for a family stay but not quite the more romantic stay we had intended. Still a great place to go - short walk to Bowdoin."
"I wish we could’ve stayed longer. The beds were too firm and could use a mattress topper. Other than that it was a great place with a very nice breakfast. You can’t beat the location."
"We had a great visit to this beautiful setting on the Maine Coast for a wedding. Every part of our stay was enjoyable. The staff was friendly and helpful. The property was a nice mix of modern amenities with some original camp style buildings for gathering."
"The room was clean. The bathroom is outdated, but functional. The hosts offered breakfast and it was very good. They were also very friendly and gave helpful suggestions for places to go and eat. On-site parking is a big plus!"
"Spinney's is over 160 years old but they have upgraded with mini splits for air conditioning and heating. The staff were very attentive. Our room was on the second floor with nice views but you need to be able to do stairs."
