"It's a bit of an up-hill trek to this hotel, but totally worth the effort. This historic property sits at the base of the Matterhorn, which we could see from our balcony. It was lovely. The property is very charming, but the staff at the desk was less so. And the beds were quite hard. However, I would still highly recommend this hotel."

Lovely room with a balcony and just around the corner was the Matterhorn. Very generous breakfast with lots of choice and busy and attentive staff replenishing everything. Would definitely recommend. They gave good inside information on snow conditions and skiing options. Also provided list of dining recommendations. Highly recommend staying here!!"

"We stayed here for 4 nights, and enjoyed the hotel. Our room (mountain view does not mean Matterhorn) was a good size, comfy beds and seating. A Kettle to make tea and coffee was appreciated. Hotel is just a 5 min walk from the train station and a supermarket, and close to many restaurants. They serve a good breakfast, as well as complimentary coffee and cake in the afternoon. Overall, good location, good sized room and good breakfast made for a pleasant stay. "

"We stayed here for 2 nights and enjoyed it immensely!! It was a few blocks from the train station and the gornergrat station - it was easy to locate off of the Main Street . Ms. Patricia at the front desk was very sweet and helpful as was one of the young men . The room was very comfortable - the hotel was modern and beautiful. The breakfast buffet was very good with a variety of choices and excellent coffee selections from the 2 machines they had . The town was easy to navigate and we enjoyed...

"A family run hotel with terrific views of the Matterhorn. Electric shuttle picked us up and dropped us off at the train station on arrival/departure. A free local bus allowed access to downtown but service ended at about 7:30PM and the walk back would be pretty uphill and take half an hour. Alternatively taxis are available but we were told they can be quite expensive. We were able to ski out and ski most of the way back. Beginner skiers would struggle to do so. "Amazing staff and location. A little bit dated, but that kind of added to the charm. Very clean. Would definitely recommend paying slightly more for a view of the Matterhorn. It is a bit of a trek up the hill and we were out of breath every time we returned to the hotel. Probably good to walk off the fondue though. Taxis are readily available. "
