Rooms are very modern, clean and our family room was quite spacious. Pool and sauna were very nice. Only 15 min walk to any site. Restaurant on site for convenience. Great choice for stay in the area."

We were told we had to inform them of arriving after 8pm but this was not mentioned in our Hotels.com reservation. The following morning reception called us to offer us advice on the surrounding area as we did not have any time during a normal check in process. I thought that this was a very nice touch. Our room, in an annexe across the street, was large and spacious with very comfortable...

"The room and hotel were surprisingly sleek and really well designed - nice to have air-conditioning and a balcony! On a street a block away from the main walkable part of town and a lovely river walk. One small complaint - no Kleenexes in the room! A problem with for someone with bad allergies."

"The hotel is cozy and very pet friendly. The decor feels like a old German home. Bed was comfy and room was clean. My favorite part of the hotel was the restaurant downstairs. "Hirschen Hotel is an idyllic hotel with excellent and extremely friendly service. We actually made friends with Chief Susanne and her daughter Sibylle and look forward to our next stay at the Hirschen. Menzenschwand is a typical small blackforest village and the Hirschen maches that typical Blockforest flair. Although Hirschen was firts built in 1733, it has been updated to a first-class modern hotel."

"This is a charming and pleasant inn. It is clean and well maintained. We however found the bed mattresses to be saggy and lumpy. It’s important to know that the church clock across the road does ring out every quarter hour and the hour on the hour. Found the breakfast to be basic but good with some excellent bread and rolls.
