"We did not expect to be able to check in several hours early, but our room was just about ready, which we were so glad of! The room was exquisitely clean and the A/C was magically cool. I enjoyed the porch swing, the poolside beer, and the attentive service over my delicious breakfast the next morning. The complimentary bottle of Marie Sharp's hot sauce was a wonderful touch!"

"The amenities were just what do expected: a clean room, a safe, a desk, two queen size beds, and a clean and functional bathroom. "Shaka Caye is a hidden gem; if you want to have a non-chaotic, very personalized vacation where the staff treat you like you are the only person on the island, Shaka Caye is the perfect location. The staff know you by name, the rooms are kept very clean, the food was absolutely amazing (I will say that the food might have been my favorite part of the trip!), and you have a beach almost to yourself. "Airport shuttle was not arranged. They asked me to whatsapp somebody but they never responded. However the stay was good. Big supermarkets either side and some restaurants walkable. Can walk to town centre. My tour to Altun Ha never arrived so Janny at the front desk called around and managed to book a tour last minute. Next day my Lamanai tour was late and she called to tour company for update. Janny was very helpful talking tour operators after the first one cancelled. Breakfast varies per day...

It had everything we needed including dishes, a 5gal jug of water and plenty of complementary coffee ☕️ The staff, (Greg, owner and Ariel) were very helpful in giving us great recommendations on where to eat. The location itself was perfect 👌 it was super peaceful located beach front. I will definitely be back!! "

"The apartment was clean and had everything we needed for 12 nights. The bed was comfortable. The air conditioning worked well, and we stayed cool during the hottest days. The kitchen was just right, and equipped with some utensils for preparing a few small meals between restaurant meals. Any time we needed to refresh our linens or restock paper products, all we had to do was ask and we got what we needed right away. The best part was the location. "The location was good, the room was clean and modern, the bathroom was excellent and, because we chose an ocean view room we had wonderful breezes. My only complaint was that the sheets and bedspread were polyester. Which means, even though the room was cool, we were still bathed with sweat. On our second night we requested a cotton blanket instead of the polyester bedspread and we slept very well."
