The lake has a paved path around it, the sounds of birds fill your ears as soon as you open your patio or balcony door, and the lovely vistas of lake, trees, and mountains are so totally calming and relaxing. It’s about 12 miles from Bedford, VA and the amazing National D-Day Museum, on an easy but winding road in the Blue Ridge Mts. "

"Everything about this hotel was good. Breakfast is always good when they offer between bacon and sausage and not just sausage. I have solely booked hotels on the breakfast menu alone and Holiday Inn has the best breakfast."

"I booked a King suite with a Mountain View. It was incredibly comfortable. I loved the tall windows. There is a ball field just across the way and office buildings, etc, so bear that in mind when you think “mountain view”. "The layout of the unit was good and it was clean enough EXCEPT - the unit I was assigned smelled AWFUL and that took away a lot from the experience. I'm not sure if smokers had previously stayed there but it ended up that kept most of my possessions in my car overnight and I had to put any clothes I had in the unit in a garage back and wash them immediately when I got home. I stayed just one night (so I'm likely not the target market for this place) and it was over the weekend so no one was...
