We had a room on the first floor and we used the lift, however there are some rooms that seem to be in between first and second floors and stairs were the only way to get there. No desk check in was a little odd, but we were able to get into our room, just before midnight on the day we checked in with no issues. It was very warm in the room and in the hallway outside, though the lobby area was clearly air conditioned, no problem at night as we were able to open our windows to let the cool night air in.
