"Stayed there 1 night, Sept 30. The hotel is 250 years old. But is updated and lovely! Super charming, clean and comfy. Our room has 2 twin beds. It was a bit small but we didn’t plan to stay in it long.
There were cookies and tea in the rooms
Loved the nightlight in the bathroom! Very helpful.
Only challenges are the parking, It’s at a premium, and all rooms are up stairs so if you have mobility challenges. This hotel is not for you"
"I want to start my review by saying the staff were mostly helpful and kind. I did also receive a full refund for my stay. However it should not have come to this.
The overall cleanliness of the room"
"Very comfortable and spacious room and nice to see the addition of a coffee table, but difficult to find a socket for the kettle which was under the TV on a low shelf. (a really daft place to boil a kettle). It needs a little golden tea trolley to get to a socket on the other side of the room. The internet TV kept freezing, looks like a poor wifi signal.
We didn't expect too much from the food, which was bland and forgettable and the buffet breakfast was not much better."
"The room was clean and comfortable, with a seaview. The bathrooms was compact,
Sllght moan shelf above sink was loose could not put anything on it.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful though at times there seem to very busy due to staff shortages .
The food was very good at all meals with generous portions."
"We were travelling through Scotland for two weeks. This was our favourite hotel. Started off with a very friendly check in, our room was fantastic, the pub and restaurant excellent. Thank you!!"
"Booked this as a last-minute room for a local event. Paid £130 for the room, knowing that I would be sharing a bathroom with another guest.
Initial contact was through Expedia messaging where I outlined that I would be arriving late due to disrupted ferry times and if it would be possible to pick my key up after arriving after 11pm. Received a message saying that they could leave my room key somewhere for me to pick up as well as one that said 'You are aware there are no ferries that operate...
"It was a beautiful room only drawback was 3rd floor being 82 &84 not as easy I think there were only a couple of rooms up there but worth it for such a lovely room. It was easy to park in street but would of preferred private car park but it was a nice quiet area, we didn’t use the bar but it looked nice if we’d been there longer I would of gone and sat in there, staff helped take our bags up to our room very helpful. 👍"
"Ok room, bathroom looks old and tired but works adequately. It’s an old building so don’t expect luxury but all was ok.
Good breakfast and helpful staff."
"We stayed at this property for a week the main person in charge Alex he was so helpful always on hand if we needed anything there was an incident which was resolved instantly it was a well looked after and more then worth the cost to stay the room was clean and tidy fresh bedding and towels any time we needed the property was well maintained and cleaned every day I will be staying here every time I visit Scotland and will be visiting again very soon with family and friends it truly was a...
