This is an oasis of peace in the middle of the boonies. Good food, great local ingredients.

Our hosts were incredibly nice, and very kind as I stumbled with my broken French. The property is absolutely gorgeous. I wish we could have stayed longer!

This property is gorgeous! The staff is very helpful and the rooms are very comfortable. The petit dejeuner is delicious and a great way to start the day. Access to the chateaû is very easy. The are per se is beautiful and the view from the terrace is amazing. The rooms are super clean and comfortable, and the tower drying racks are something I would like to add in my house. Geraldine is an excellent host! Also, do try their wines

Easy to find, close to major food store, peaceful night and private parking. Restaurant closed on the weekend.

Quiet, clean, comfortable. Restaurant was closed but able to enjoy a beer on the patio. Bed was too firm for me, but everything else was wonderful!

We loved our stay at this hotel! Great location and clean rooms. We would visit again for sure!

Super friendly and warm welcome! Delicious breakfast (fresh squeezed orange juice) and delicious dinner! Felt very safe and close drive to everything in town. Thank you to the wonderful staff for your kindness and warm welcome!

We arrived late and the drive felt like we would never get there. But when we arrived the greetings were over accommodating and fixed us a glass of wine and a light dinner. Very unexpected. Our room was lovely and decorated very French! The room was clean the breakfast was great! The bed was comfortable and the shower was wonderful.

We were traveling from Brittany to a village near Angouleme and decided to try for a stay over in the Loire Valley region. After finding Le Chai de la Paleine in a search for hotels near Saumur we decided to book based on other reviews. It was even better than expected. We enjoy a mix of high end hotels, boutique hotels, and self catering depending on the trip. This was somewhere between boutique and self-catering. The welcome we received when we arrived in the evening got us off on exactly the...

A/c wonderful, the only thing it lacked was an outdoor pool! Ha, ha it was during the canicule!

very quiet location. no restaurant so we had to go into the village. sign said breakfast available at 0630, but the owner would not serve until 0800 and we had to leave without. We suspect too little business to make it worthwhile.

Very reasonable price for a very clean and quiet hotel. The bed was comfy and I slept really well.
