"Staff were very helpful and accommodating.
My initial room , I felt, had very poor ventilation. The ‘window’, with frosted glass, did not open and appeared to be connected to an inside corridor within the building. The bathroom extractor fan was either whisper quiet or did not function. As such, the room was very stuffy and stale smelling.
I was very tired upon arrival and elected to seek help the following morning.
Before retiring I saw that Expedia were asking for an opinion of my check in...
"I didn’t like the impersonal check in and while our room was adequate it didn’t provide the nice touches and hospitality experienced in other accommodation at this price point."
"The only thing good about this place is the breakfast was decent. The ladies served the meal were very nice and welcoming.
Be prepared to drive thru a super long pothole-filled single road and finally arrived with nothing to eat, no where to eat, and the reception staff offered no help and couldn’t care less.
Unfortunate, this was not a place that meets the Scottish hospitality standard. Will not return."

"We had a the Signature room in Scalloway Hotel which was a lovely big room with a view overlooking the sea. The room was clean and very well appointed. The reason I only gave 4 stars rather than 5 was because there was shower gel ( attached to the wall) in the shower but that was all. There were no other toiletries at all. We appeared to be expected to go into the shower to wash our hands. I expect a hotel to at least provide hand soap. The staff were very helpful when I asked for some but I...
"Handy hotel for parkrun. Good quality I’d expect from its rating but shocked they didn’t supply a toothpaste which I’d forgotten. Even as an Airbnb Host I would be able to do that and would expect nothing less from a hotel, especially when listed available in their hotel info book"
