"Stopped for two nights with my husband on a motorbike trip to the Picos. We loved staying here. We had a beautiful balcony view looking out on to farm land and mountains and could hear the birds singing. So tranquil. Loved all the geranium window boxes. So pretty. Staff were very friendly and we got by with speaking English and a little Spanish! The accommodation was very clean and the beds very comfortable. We could have parked the bike in the garage as pre arranged but felt it was safe to leave the bike at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, not a cooked breakfast , apart from fried eggs and pancakes on one day but plenty of choice and delicious. The restaurant for an evening meal was in a separate building up a hill on the other side of the road. It was only open 1 of the two nights we were there but the quality of the food was excellent and generous portions. The hotel was a perfect position for exploring the Picos and we preferred the more tranquil spot rather than stopping in Potes. Found it a bit tricky to find the entrance to the hotel at first. Think cars had to park on roadside but we could park the bikes in front of the property which was excellent. Wish we'd booked another night. Would I stay again...Yes, definitely. Sad to leave ."

"This hotel was an overnight stop off between the coast of Asturias and Rioja. It was very affordable. It did not have the charm of the old buildings but everything we could wish for was there. The food was cheap and very good. The breakfast was enjoyable. The service was good. No complaints. Great Value for money"

"This out of the way Parador is perfect if you want a quiet stay with stunning views. It's an older property and some of the fixtures/fittings in the bathroom are tired but on the plus side - shower pressure was good and everything was very clean and we had a great nights sleep. The resturant served tasty local food - very nicely prepared and presented. The staff were attentive and friendly - we would visit again if in the area."

"We chose this hotel because it was an hour from Santander and just off our main route from Portugal to the ferry port for the UK. Lovely town with impressive old centre and lovely riverside walks. Lively market the day we arrived (Tuesday). Be aware that self-parking is actually free on-street parking but area seems very secure so we left most of our extensive contents in car and had no problem. Also,hotel restaurant non-functioning so sought dinner in town and nowhere open until 9pm. But several decent restaurants and very reasonably priced bars available at that time. Overall, the hotel was clean and very modern and service was good with a decent, buffet breakfast served. Would use again. "
