"Stayed there 1 night, Sept 30. The hotel is 250 years old. But is updated and lovely! Super charming, clean and comfy. Our room has 2 twin beds. It was a bit small but we didn’t plan to stay in it long.
There were cookies and tea in the rooms
Loved the nightlight in the bathroom! Very helpful.
Only challenges are the parking, It’s at a premium, and all rooms are up stairs so if you have mobility challenges. This hotel is not for you"
"I want to start my review by saying the staff were mostly helpful and kind. I did also receive a full refund for my stay. However it should not have come to this.
The overall cleanliness of the room"
"This place is absolutely not like the photos, this was hands down one of the worst stays I’ve ever had.
-manager was kind
-spiders everywhere
-black mold in our room
- our room didn’t have hot water
-filthy property
-deceiving photos
- paper thin walls
- breakfast was good
-not vacuumed
-dirty sheets
- lights that did not work
-dark creepy halls
-broken emergency class with the door flapping back and forth all night that kept us up

"The room was clean and comfortable, with a seaview. The bathrooms was compact,
Sllght moan shelf above sink was loose could not put anything on it.
The staff were very pleasant and helpful though at times there seem to very busy due to staff shortages .
The food was very good at all meals with generous portions."
"The property was so dirty hairs on the bed before we got in there tears in the pillows, mold all over the tubs and shower walls and floor. The stairway was super grubby. There was a brown red smudge on the wall in the bathroom with the staff was very nice and friendly, but tried to grab a manager to get a refund and no one was available. Emailed nobody is available called. Nobody was available. I don’t see us getting a refund even for the night we didn’t stay. We are allergic to mold and mildew....
"A really lovely place to stay in Inveraray. Very good pub and restaurant. The house whisky was so good I took home 2 bottles. There are a variety of different rooms, some in the main building others in adjacent buildings and some with spectacular views across the loch. The standalone tub was a nice amenity, which I did not have the time to enjoy."
"The room was clean but overall hotel needs lots of TLC. Only seen one member of staff. He was receptionist, bartender and possibly waiting on breakfast tables, so he was kept going.
For what we paid for overnight stay, we have no complaints. Main thing was the room and en suite were clean. If you want 5 star you need to be prepared to pay a lot more than this hotel charges. Overall it did the job."
"The staff was friendly and the food at the in-house restaurant was very good. The condition of the room was good enough and clean, but everything from the doors, bed, bathroom and more was incredibly old and left some to be desired in terms of upkeep. I felt the pictures of the rooms online were rather deceiving. The location of the property though was fantastic with beautiful views."
"The suite is advertised with stunning views over Loch Awe and Kilchurn castle but you can't see any of the Loch at all. The interior of the suite was kept well and clean and the host was polite. Easy check in and check out."
