"Our criteria was an affordable hotel with a front desk & relatively close to the train station. This hotel delivered precisely that. It was just across the square, not even 10 minutes easy walk. Our room faced the square & had a little balcony style window which could be opened but not sat on. There was both an outside shutter & curtains which were very effective in blocking out noise & light. We slept well & were not disturbed at all. "Location is right in the heart of the town and there is a multitude of restaurants nearby. Our room was recently renovated as I most of the rooms I believe. Great shower and bathroom and lots of plugs for devices. Breakfast very good as well"

"beautiful property, every room on the main floor (where you have your breakfast) opens up to a beautiful view of the ocean. breakfast was essentially continental so nothing too exciting but a nice touch (bread, croissants, yogurt, granola, orange juice, jam, butter, nutella with an option for cheese slices and salami) but Ima makes amazing espresso/cappuccinos which made it all better! Marcos & Ima were incredibly kind and helpful staff members throughout our stay, helped us with the bus...

"Would highly recommend staying here, in a perfect location in the centre of Positano, 5-10 mins walk to the beach, lots of little shops and restaurants nearby. Hotel itself is lovely, very clean and staff really helpful and welcoming - nothing was too much trouble. You even get beach towels and flip flops provided in your room if you want to go to the beach! "

"Really enjoyed the staff, we loved the way they treated us like family. The grounds, a lot of lemon trees, are beautiful. It can be a little challenging to get down into town but the bus stop is right in front of the hotel. It looks scary, and it can be, but walking to and from the hotel to the town is quite doable for those accustomed to walking. All in all, a great place. "

The hosts were so amazing and gracious. And Open Gate is ideally located on the bus line or with ample parking if you drive. We will be back! "

"We really loved our stay at Hotel Maresca and in Praiano! Our room was clean and spacious, with a magnificent view of the sea. You can tell that they take pride in maintaining the hotel. The breakfast was simple but the quality was top notch! They offered fresh eggs (however you liked it) and fresh caffe. Antonio was so helpful and recommended some great places to explore. We loved chatting to him as he is so kind and welcoming. The only feedback is that the shower pressure in the bathroom...
