From start to finish there was not one issue, got upgraded to a suite, stunning room immaculate views amazing location, breakfast was incredible and the staff had character and charm. I'll happily book this place when I next come to rethymno. "The hotel is beautifully designed and maintained. The staff is wonderful and very helpful. The location was quite a shock as the hotel is situated in a 2 km stretch of restaurants, souvenir shops, and noisy clubs across from the beach. We would have preferred a quaint setting in the Old Town."

"I would like to recommend this hotel. It's safe and good for kids. Staffs were friendly, specially hotel manager was very helpful. Breakfast and dinner was also good with different choices. Rethynmo centre is not far from hotel, you can find bus outside hotel (Euro 1.20). You can find excursion/travel agency outside hotel (buses will pick you from outside of hotel) if you don't have car."

Fresh towels and bed linen mid week, unprompted texts suggesting places to visit, offers of help when I was unwell, daily bin emptying and toilet roll replenishment and offers of coffee whenever at the pool area. Local restaurants superb and reasonably priced. Warm sea to swim in. Pool area clean and plenty of sun-beds. Loads of free parking. I would stay here again."

"Property owner and staff were super friendly,accommodating.Willing to provide a list of places to see and do.You are minutes to the main Center and the old city.There is a supermarket for your convenience should it be needed.The hotel is fairly new, clean and parking is available.Our first visit to Crete and Rethymno is a fantastic town.Lots to see,eat,and drink.I would re visit and check into this establishment again.Thank you to the staff of The City Hotel and Suites.Travellers from Canada."

"This was our 6th trip here, so obviously there is a lot to love. Three times as a couple, this was 3rd with two younger generations. Staff are lovely - although there is a risk of wine recommendations becoming a sales pitch. There are lots more hotel-organised trips available than before. This can provide comfort and confidence to new visitors but you can save money if you choose to arrange them yourself. Pool area is beautifully kept and clean.
