"Location was good, difficult getting taxis between 12 - 1 (2 told us they were on lunch) - waited almost an hour as walk to steep with luggage. Staff were very kind and helpful, but also not around for 20 when we arrived. Jacuzzi was out of order. Amazing views and terrace with a pool, nice grounds, good lunch (sandwiches) and wine, rooms modern but small (it's Europe). We would stay again! Loved hotel cat!"

"Our stay at Casa de Casal de Loivos exceeded all our expectations—and I say that in spite of some windy, rainy days! Bernardo was so gracious and helpful. Before we even arrived he was letting us know about road closures and provided directions for the best route. Upon arrival, our bags were brought in for us and he even volunteered to park our car. "My wife and I chose this location for an evening stay after driving through the Duoro valley from Marvao. It was conveniently located, easy to find, clean and the check-in and hospitality were very good. Unfortunately we arrived fairly late, the weather didn't cooperate, and we stayed on a Monday evening so many of the local attractions and restaurants were not open. We did take a long walk through Lamego and it was a pretty, albeit mostly empty town. "
