"The Mandarin Oriental this is not. This is a clean, well run, small European hotel, not new, but well maintained, with a very friendly and astonishingly multi-lingual staff.
The clientele appeared to be well-to-do couples speaking French and German. The food in the restaurant was not flaming or foaming, but the lasagne made with fresh pasta was very nice, as was my glass of red wine.
The hotel is within spitting distance of both Hertz and the train station. If you have reason to stay overnight...
"This was a standout hotel for our Italy trip.
The hotel is stylish with good communal areas, places to sit etc. The room was really comfortable with a balcony from which we see the lake … including a lightening storm behind the mountains
The pool was really clean with lots of beds. Cool -but weather so warm that it was good
The staff were friendly and polite
EV charging (4 hours at approx 30 euros)
Ferry was 3 mins walk and town was 15 mins walk …along an enchanting path to the beautiful...

"The only good thing about the hotel Besso is the location next to the Central Station. The hotel is horrible - first there is no Air condition so the heat is intense. The bath is extremely small and the shower you hardly can fit so if there is a heavy person (180 pounds or more) this person will not fit in the shower. Literally there is no soap - they give you two very small pieces which have little soap. The beds are terrible and super ugly. The towels, some of them are super old....
