"Just know that the futons are only about 10cm deep so not super comfy if used to sleeping on a bed. Room was clean but the carpet on the hallway to the bathroom was really stained. The staff was super kind. Convenient to walk around the little town and the mausoleum."

Dinner was large and amazing (I am not a vegetarian but the food was delicious). Our room was a junior suite with our own bath and garden. I would not have it any other way. "Definitely accessible via train and walking, but I recommend taking a taxi from the station just because there’s not a lot of room for pedestrians. As far as the hotel goes, the staff are very kind and accommodating, there are several shops on the bottom floor, you’re able to purchase local goods at the front desk and there is an amazing kimono shop one block away called Aridayagofuku where you can buy very high-quality textiles, local jewelry, and seasonal kimono.
