"We booked this hotel en route to Denmark. We were travelling with our three year old child also. The hotel was relatively easy to find, with plenty parking. We phoned ahead as we're running late - which turned out to be a wise thing as reception closes at 8pm. When we arrived, we found the staff to be friendly, they spoke English (which saved us from using our pigeon German and/or bad sign language) and we were given directions to our room which was in one of the annex buildings. The decor was modern with a hint of tradition. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We could hear birds in the morning and the bells of the cathedral. Wonderful sunset over the city skyline. "A perfect stay in a beautiful city, location is perfect in a quiet neighbourhood and 2 minutes walk from the number 12 bus stop which takes you into the city. The lady owner speaks very good English and is a real character with a great sense of humour and this made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was a quality buffet with cheese, hams, salami, salmon, yoghurts, jam, breads etc. and delicious coffee. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area."

"Nice small family hotel in the middle of town, good breakfast and close to the harbour. the hotel had everything you could ask for to be 3 stars. All signs and information were only in German. The pillow on the bed was very soft and thin, we asked for two extra pillows. But we got a blanket instead. :) Otherwise everything was good."

"Really dated rooms facing the sun with no air con or breeze making our stay sweaty. ( in a heat wave) We left after a few hours as our van was more comfortable. Also no lounge, more suited for geriatrics birthdays and dances."

"Very cute hotel in a small town. The hotel was small and easy to find and the rooms were big considering the size of the hotel. The only thing I would suggest is that if you’re not fluent in German this might not be the best place. The staff tried their best to communicate and answer questions and having a translation app on our phones helped. "

"No questions to the personnel, the building is full of old furniture and paintings, It's OK. But parking is chaotic, internet is almost dead, food is primitive. Coffee is not coffee."

"The hotel was right across the River from the old city of Lübeck, and an easy walk. It was a quaint and spacious room, and the breakfasts were really great. Their smoked salmon was fantastic!"
