"The Northwest Castle is a very out dated hotel, needs to update especially the rooms. We stayed in a bungalow which surprised me as I thought we were staying in the hotel.
The staff are lovely , very helpful and very friendly.
The food is average.
For £121 per night b&b I would expect better. Bathrooms old with deep bath and poor shower above the bath. Stayed a couple of times the first time being in the hotel. Wouldn't stay again unless guaranteed a hotel stay and a modern room. Shame!"
"We stayed here while attending a wedding at the nearby Trump Turnberry hotel. The hotel is a short 15-minute drive from Turnberry and right on the coast road with fantastic views. The hotel has an ample car park and spacious rooms. We found the rooms perfect for our 1-night stay. Included in the room rate are various cold breakfast items like cereals, croissaints, ham in the fridge, fruit yougarts, milk for making tea/coffee. I would not hesitate to recommend this superb hotel."
"Les gens étaient super gentils et serviables. Le bar était chouette, mais les chambres aussi tranquilles et agréables. C’est spacieux et commode. Le petit déjeuner est vraiment génial et copieux. Proche de tout, la terrasse est magnifique, facile de stationnement."
"Very good. We were there when it was very hot. Provided us with a fan for the room. Had medication that needed refrigeration that they happily looked after. An amazing meal in the restaurant"
"Had to request bath towels as they didn’t leave any and when I requested some I got told we didn’t need bath towels as we didn’t have a bath in our room we had a shower !!!!!
No bedding for the sofa bed as we didn’t request any!!"
"Ideally situated overlooking the harbour, this hotel offers sea views from its' restaurant and some bedrooms. I was, unexpectedly, given a self-catering apartment next door which meant that i had plenty of space with a lounge/kitchen area in addition to the bathroom and bedroom(s).
The only problem was that the door into my apartment was really difficult to push open, hand and foot were required. This was certainly because of the heat, but I was surprised that cleaners etc. hadn't noticed and...
"While the outside of the building has seen better days the staff were very helpful, there was motorcycle parking I was comfortable with , and the room was spacious and clean. Pub next door did a decent dinner."
"The meals were very tasty and nicely presented. Breakfast choice was tailored to suit individuals. Staff were friendly and pleasant.
Nothing was too much trouble. The hosts went over and above our expectations. A genuine pleasure to stay at this location"
