He asked after our trip, have recommendations based on what we liked, suggested places that he and his family have enjoyed and was a delight to talk to. The room is spacious, the bathroom is out of a magazine, the view is beautiful and the location ideal. It feels like being in a movie set. We will definitely stay here again when we're in the area. "Main standout quality of this hotel is it’s location. Beautiful views of The Mournes and very well maintained gardens. Also ample car parking space. If you want a quiet place to escape then this is it. Very attentive staff and excellent food. We did get the impression that one of the male staff was overworked- it seemed that he was absolutely doing everything, but must stress that he was an excellent ‘people person’ and that nothing was a bother to him. This hotel is only 1.8miles from the beautiful resort of Newcastle and is a perfect base from which to plan your hikes in The Mournes. "
