However, I must say that the team at Eko-in really goes above and beyond to make for an incredible experience from start to finish. They guide you step by step upon check-in and let you know what to expect along the way. "The experience was what we expected. Very Japanese, quiet with beautiful gardens. They changed our booking from a room for 6 to three rooms for 2 each and had a nice garden view. The dinner was surprisingly very good with all vegetable dishes but quite diverse texture and taste. We enjoyed our stay. "

"This was a wonderful traditional ryokan temple stay. The food was excellent. The onsen was tranquil. The room was spacious and futons very comfortable. The english speaking gentleman (who worked w the temple) was knowledgeable, passionate and eager to answer questions. "

"The service staff is exceptional. We had dinner at the nearby Mitu restaurant and the restaurant charged us twice which I think was an honest mistake. Unfortunately the restaurant was closed for the next two days which meant we couldn't contact the restaurant re the double charge as we were scheduled to move on to the next city on our tour. We approached the hotel staff to see if they could contact the restaurant on our behalf to get them to check the restaurant records. They were very helpful and the counter staff volunteered to go over to the restaurant when it reopen for business after the two day break to explain the situation to the restaurant. Anyway in short, the hotel staff was able to get the restaurant to reverse one of the charge. BTW the food at Mitu was excellent and well worth a visit."
