"We loved our time at Rancho Cerro Azul. It was an awesome place with a friendly staff. The two bedroom cabin was perfect for our family of 5, plenty of space to all sleep comfortably without being on top of each other. It was clean and a great value for the price, it was also located close to restaurants and a lot of the area attractions. Our only complaint is that our specific cabin (#10) was right near the road, so there was a little bit of noise, and also the drain on the patio hot tub...

"We had a great stay at Fortuna Retreat. Only notes would be that the room could be a bit cleaner (in the corners of the bathroom, behind furniture) and the view from the ground floor rooms is not as advertised- you can’t get a clear view of the volcano. Otherwise the staff were amazing, the pool was lovely and the grounds were extremely well kept with beautiful greenery."

"20 minutes from downtown La Fortuna. Expect to travel about 5km of rough gravel and potholes on a road where locals live. There are signs along the way to keep you on track; I would not stay here without a car. The property grounds were well kept. There were 13 bungalows in a row; not a resort as the name states (no gym,no activities, no spa, one small pool, one small restaurant, no lobby etc).
