"The hotel was amazing the best we have ever stayed in. The staff were very helpful and the hotel was beautifuly maintained. The bed was very comfortable and the pillows were perfect, the bathroom was spotless and the towels big,white and soft. There was a good menu for an evening meal and the food was delicious. The surroundings were very pretty with views to the mountains and a lovely beach just a couple of minutes walk. We would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to anyone."

"We had great difficulty finding the apartments which are situated in the old part of town and on a pedestrian street, opposite a bar. Our apartment was on the third floor at the rear of the building and so away from the noise. We also had a lovely view of the mountains. "The Palación de Toñaneswas one of the most unforgettable hotels we have ever stayed in. A 300-year-old farmhouse made from cut store - even the doorways were chiselled from stone. "We stopped overnight at this wonderful little Hotel before catching the Santander Ferry to Plymouth. The room was uprated free, was big, clean and very comfortable. Excellent hotel with tranquil setting
"Stopped for two nights with my husband on a motorbike trip to the Picos. We loved staying here. We had a beautiful balcony view looking out on to farm land and mountains and could hear the birds singing. So tranquil. Loved all the geranium window boxes. So pretty. Staff were very friendly and we got by with speaking English and a little Spanish! The accommodation was very clean and the beds very comfortable. We could have parked the bike in the garage as pre arranged but felt it was safe to leave the bike at the front of the hotel. Breakfast was delicious, not a cooked breakfast , apart from fried eggs and pancakes on one day but plenty of choice and delicious. The restaurant for an evening meal was in a separate building up a hill on the other side of the road. It was only open 1 of the two nights we were there but the quality of the food was excellent and generous portions. The hotel was a perfect position for exploring the Picos and we preferred the more tranquil spot rather than stopping in Potes. Found it a bit tricky to find the entrance to the hotel at first. Think cars had to park on roadside but we could park the bikes in front of the property which was excellent. Wish we'd booked another night. Would I stay again...Yes, definitely. Sad to leave ."
