"Very beautiful lobby, feel so relaxed upon entering. Lovely courtyard too. Service is good and staff are very accommodating towards requests. Value for money. Rooms are rather dated, not the cleanest but ok acceptable. Basic amenities provided. Buffet breakfast is very basic but sufficient and menu of hot items changed on the 2 nights we stayed. Very convenient location - near to good dining options and Jonker Street. Walkable to St Paul Hill and A Famosa."

"This hotel is quite old and maintenance is needed such as lift, amenities holder at the shower area. However, the room cleanliness was good. Air con was strong and cooling. "

The staff , from porters to management were helpful friendly and knowledgeable of the area. The room was spacious and well kept. "Everything was great! 4 stars for cleanliness and facilities only because the hotel has a bit of age and wear and tear. The carpark is a huge plus point. Do note that if your room faces the jonker street, it might get noisy when there is night market and performance that might last till close to midnight. "

"I overnight in this (ELMARK HOTEL MELAKA) for 2 nights. The second night was a nightmare to me. I'm so disappointed due to the electrical door lock spoilt, and i can't acess it. I have to wait more than 12 hours and there is no proper arrangements for me (my belongings are inside my room). The hotel staff told me about the master key with the hotel owner, and he is in another state now. I called the hotel owner, he didn't fix the issue on the spot..He asked me to wait him for another day to open...

"Overall the apartment was very nice with wonderful views over the city and mountains, but there was one very big issue with the lower level bathroom. At some time the water heater must have leaked and caused the ceiling to collapse. This must have happened some time ago judging by the mold on the surrounding wall/ceiling. Although this didn’t prevent me from trying to use the shower, I did discover however that the hot water supply had been turned off, I assume because of the leaking water...
