"The atmosphere of a converted prison is unique. Parking across the river in the Altstadt parkplatz worked fine. Not the most convenient but if you want to stay in the old town it's pretty much required. Would stay again. "

"The room was clean and had all the necessities. The kitchen had silverware, plates, pots, pans, and an espresso machine. The bathroom was clean, and the tub was spacious. The bed was comfortable. However, the pull-out bed was uncomfortable and tilted to one side. Additionally, customer service was terrific. They even do your laundry. Overall, I loved my stay here. "

"It must have some shady guests before ... there were signs to tell guests not to cook in the room, sign to tell guests about CHF 100 fine for letting the water leaked from under the shower door. BTW, the shower door is leaking if one uses its rain curtain shower head on top. The only way to avoid the water spilling on the door and leaking out of its bottom gap is to use the hand held. "Great hotel in Grindelwald. The staff was very friendly and the complimentary breakfast was very good. We had a fantastic view of the Eiger and Monch mountains that captivated us. I suggest requesting a room with a view of these mountains as opposed to the other side that looks towards Mount First. That side isn't bad, but the view towards Eiger and Monch is fantastic. The mountains feel close enough to touch. It's a 15 to 20 minute walk to the main train station, but there are also buses...
