"This is a really lovely, simple hotel, in the heart of Zürich's old town. It took me about 10 minutes to walk there from the main station. The room was perfectly clean, and comfortable. I booked a small room, which had an en-suite, double bed, wardrobe and table and chairs, but I can't comment on the larger rooms and suites. Breakfast was simple, but nice. "First off, the hotel is now the Plattendorf, not the 'Design'. Orbitz: you need to let them change it. A fair walk from the HB, the room was fine. The Italian restaurant attached has great Italian food. All in all a fine hotel (no free breakfast...)"

"Positives: Cannot beat the ambience...hotel is set on lakeside Zurich...beautiful. When we checked in we were helped by Mario, who was extremely friendly, professional & helpful. Lobby is small & quaint adjacent to the restaurant with wood floors. Atmosphere is what you would expect from a boutique hotel, cozy but upscale. When you are not in your room you can either relax at a table outside with a glass a wine or walk a few steps to the pier & enjoy the view. Rooms had an unbeatable view...

"Great, modern, good condition, clean, comfortable bed. Only issue is that there is no air conditioning in the room, this was manageable with opening window and using provided free standing fan. For some of possible hotter summer weeks this could become a problem. "

The room was a small studio and there is some large furniture which made it a bit cramped for two people.
