"Stunningly beautiful setting. Traumatic boat trip out to resort. Engine fire. Host pushed passed guests who were left to fight the fire with the boat driver. Used out hats to scoop water from the lake to put out foot high flames. Management at resort once we eventually arrived were non plussed. No acknowledgement of our ordeal other then and apology. Not even a complimentary beer! Cut short at start and at end due to the boat fire. Such a shame because it's a beautiful location. Needs money...

"Budget hotel with large double bed room for 508 baht. Room had fridge, good shower and central location next to bus station and supermarkets. Poor air conditioning though, which made room stifling hot. I went down to report it but no one to be found. Also WiFi so bad I came off it and used my sim data. "

"The stay in Isara made our holiday in Khao Lak very memorable. The quality of customer service and sincere hospitality that far exceeded most 5 star hotels. Andy and Benz had gone out of their way to make sure my family and I were well taken care off during the stay. The property is near beaches and good restaurants, mini marts and one of the best Thai tea stall. They provide shuttle service to town and places of interest which saved us a lot on taxi fare. "It is set up in a jungle it is very relaxing to stay. The beach is front is cleaned but needs cleaning. There are sun chairs but need maintenance The gardens are nice but need better maintenance. The bongolows are spacious with good showers but need repainting. The all place needs DIY and upgrading. "

Dangerous. Unusable. Shoddy. Unresponsive.

Used out hats to scoop water from the lake to put out foot high flames. Management at resort once we eventually arrived were non plussed. No acknowledgement of our ordeal other then and apology. Not even a complimentary beer! Cut short at start and at end due to the boat fire. Such a shame because it's a beautiful location. Needs money spending on repairs to walkways and steps into the water as dangerous too. Book with Cate as it's pretty pricey. A day trip or at the most 1 night stay is the maximum I'd recommend booking. Such a shame. "
