"This trip had to be cancelled at very short notice due to a serious family health crisis. The hotel kindly waived their charge as I had booked a non cancellation room. Obviously did not expect this. "Hotel was fine for a one night stay with good breakfast. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, though rather small and I found it rather stuffy at night (though an electric fan was available in the room). Hotel is fairly central, convenient if arriving at Colchester Town Station and for town centre. It's not luxury but reasonable value for what I paid. Staff seemed quite welcoming too. "

"Great location for exploring Aldeburgh and the Suffolk coast. Very pleasant bar and restaurant areas. The Sea Spice Indian restaurant was particularly enjoyable. It’s an old building so there’s lots of stairs and at the time of writing the lift is out of service. The bedroom we occupied was small and comfortable for a short break, but the bathroom was a little dated. However, overall we felt it was good value and we would be happy to stay here again in the future."

It does need a little investment, the furniture and furnishings are tired. Breakfast was good if limited in choice. All the team were pleasant.
