"After staying in several large, corporate hotels, this was a real change. The hotel is in an old building with some very interesting history. For example, one room, where you can sit and enjoy the complimentary tea and coffee, used to be the town's library. Breakfast is served in the cellar, which used to be a bar. Two of the Beatles even visited in 1967. There also works of art from modern artists all over the place."

"Compared to the “5-star” resort I’d been staying at the past five nights in Crete, this 3-star was truly luxurious! The bed was incredibly comfortable and there was even a pillow “menu” (no extra charge). There was a fully stocked bar with plenty of bottled water. There was even a magnifying makeup mirror and an ironing board. My only suggestions for improvement would be to offer the newer USB charging ports as well as larger (and more - 2 per person) towels. Additionally, it was pretty noisy due to the nightlife scene going on the streets below our room. Consider offering free white noise machines (or a white noise app on the TV, with a menu of different sleep sounds). "

"After reading other reviews, I tried to think of a different way to describe this place but “simple but nice” really captures it perfectly. The young woman who checked me in was absolutely lovely and gracious. The room was minimalist, but clean and the interior of the building felt secure, safe, and had a nice touch of whimsy. While I wouldn’t lower the rating because of it, I would recommend they take new photos - at least of the exterior. In my delirious stupor from a long journey and a , I had directions on my phone but was still looking for the brick building in the cover photo. Didn’t realize until later that one would need to scroll a while to see the actual front entrance. But that’s it - great place, good location, and the only staff person I encountered was amazingly kind!"

"Very nice traditional hotel . Reception staff very friendly . Room comfortable and shower separate to wc which is very useful. Clear green instructions if staying more than one night . Magic breakfast with masses of choice . Hotel very near train and bus station and also centre. "
