"We enjoyed staying at International au Lac Historic Lakeside Hotel. It is a good mix of old-style hotel with antiques with modern convenances and upgraded rooms. "The staff were friendly, and it was very central. This is 3 star so some of the amenities were a bit basic (uncomfortable bed but good pillows). Things that could have helped were chairs for the balcony, stronger overhead light bulb in the main room, toaster at breakfast). Convenient for one night."

"I stayed here for one night and I definitely got my money's worth. The bathroom and shower were shared with other guests but they were really clean. The food was also great although a bit expensive. The room was a bit shoddy, but I'm not complaining; the beds were clean, towels were provided, the TV had plenty of channels, and I had a sink in the room which made it a very comfortable stay. If I go back to Lugano, I'll probably stay here again"

Easy stroll from station (7-8 minutes, with luggage), immediate access to all- old town, restaurants, funicular to Madonna del Sasso etc, ferries for lake trips,. Staff totally helpful and engaging. Great stay for three nights before stunning train trip to Domodossola ."
