"It was a delightful hotel with character. Room was a very good size and the food was very good. All staff were very helpful. Good swimming pool and sauna."
"The Portpatrick Hotel never fails to disappoint.
The location is wonderful but the hotel itself is poor, poorly maintained and no attention to detail by housekeeping when preparing rooms, with empty soap dispensers in the bathroom.
The hotel just seems neglected, badly managed and understaffed by people who have little or no training in hospitality.
At best the breakfast was disappointing, the hot food in the buffet was edible, but the presentation and other items sadly lacking."
"Not a very friendly welcome and no help with luggage ( no elevator). Friendly breakfast gal and a pub and eatery downstairs and right next door. Waterfront walk if weather is nice"
"This is a room above a pub. It is the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. It is small but functional with a comfortable bed. The staff are excellent and extremely accommodating. Breakfast is free and so is the clean fresh air. Food is excellent and the place is pet friendly. Its about 35 mins to the ferry but worth the journey."
"We couldn’t get into the property because it has been closed to the public for some time, Expedia obviously didn’t know about that because they kept sending us emails regarding our stay and when we turned up There after a late night ferry crossing we were stuck in the back of beyond and having tried to book other hotels in Dumfries with no joy we won’t be using Expedia again ever!! "
"Excellent lodge, high standard. Comfortable and clean with great outdoors space. Shame cushions had been left out and soaking couldn’t use nice garden furniture in the good weather."
"From the moment of arriving we were made to feel at home , our cases and bags were transferred to our Lodge for us enabling a seamless check in.
The lodge itself was immaculate , clean , fresh and very high end equipped with all required utensils available .
En-suite to the main room, a balcony overlooking the lovely bay , very impressed with everything .
A nice welcome hamper on arrival was also a nice touch ,
Staff couldn’t do any more to make our stay perfect ,
Will definitely return ,
