"I was looking forward to wonderful weekend away but the hotel just does not live up to its pictures, maybe it did 10 years ago. The hotel needs a serious refurb as well as the grounds of the hotel. "This is one of our favorite half-way stops on our way down to Cape Town. Wildernis is a quant little town with world-class restaurants and The Wildernis Hotel is such a great place to stay. Lovely pool, padel, tennis and mini-golf facilities. Excellent breakfasts! And very, very friendly staff."

"The pictures online do not show the overall shabby condition of the property. The property has not been updated in a long time and it shows. Window latches broken, poor quality curtains that do not block out the bright outside lights at night. The ceiling paint in the bathroom was pealing and the net curtains ere dirty. Paint splashes on the doorknob and a broken curtain tie in the corner on the floor. All round just not the quality type of property I would ever stay in. And the photos are a little misleading. The pool is nice, but that is about it."
