"Lodgings in this area are generally expensive so the review is ignoring that aspect. The hotel is old but for most part it doesn’t seem dated. Room interiors were bright and very clean but bathroom can use minor refresh to fittings. Staff was very friendly and ready to help. Breakfast was served in a lovely cafeteria , had lots of selections and quite wonderful. "

"Beautiful property right on the water with a view of the glacier. The beds were very comfy after our long days of exploring eastern Iceland. Food was delicious and plentiful. We loved how adorable our apartment was. Very sweet and helpful staff. We woke up to a flat tire. The hotel staff was so sweet and let us hang in out room for an extra hour past checkout just so we had a place to sit and wait for roadside assistance. Just said they would clean our room last. The museum was really neat too! I actually had no interest initially, but I am really glad we spent the time to wander through. It was very interesting!"
