We phoned ahead as we're running late - which turned out to be a wise thing as reception closes at 8pm. When we arrived, we found the staff to be friendly, they spoke English (which saved us from using our pigeon German and/or bad sign language) and we were given directions to our room which was in one of the annex buildings. "The hotel is perfectly located for the old city. We had the Deluxe Room and all the details were perfect - bathrobes, slippers, two sinks, huge shower and bath with luxurious toiletries. The decor was modern with a hint of tradition. The hotel staff were friendly and helpful. We could hear birds in the morning and the bells of the cathedral. Wonderful sunset over the city skyline. A truly luxurious, indulgent and relaxing stay"

"This is an older charming hotel situated next to the water that surrounds Lubeck. Because of the age of the building, there was no air conditioning. Our room got stuffy at night. We faced a busy street, so did not want traffic noise and kept the door to the balcony closed. I suspect it would be very warm in the heat of summer. But staff were very pleasant and accommodating. "

"A perfect stay in a beautiful city, location is perfect in a quiet neighbourhood and 2 minutes walk from the number 12 bus stop which takes you into the city. The lady owner speaks very good English and is a real character with a great sense of humour and this made our stay very enjoyable. Breakfast was a quality buffet with cheese, hams, salami, salmon, yoghurts, jam, breads etc. and delicious coffee. I would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area."

"Nice small family hotel in the middle of town, good breakfast and close to the harbour. the hotel had everything you could ask for to be 3 stars. All signs and information were only in German. The pillow on the bed was very soft and thin, we asked for two extra pillows. But we got a blanket instead. :) Otherwise everything was good."

"No questions to the personnel, the building is full of old furniture and paintings, It's OK. But parking is chaotic, internet is almost dead, food is primitive. Coffee is not coffee."

"Everything was excellent, the only complaint I have is that there were no mosquito/flies net in front of the windows. This makes it difficult to sleep, since there is also no AC in the room, so the flies and mosquitoes were everywhere in the room. Your hotel is right by the horse stable so flies and mosquitoes are a given. Please install them for your rooms!"
