"Great hotel on the edge of town. We parked mid day with no problem and the desk is 24 hours so we left everything in the car and checked in just before midnight with no issue. They'd warned us that there was an event on that night but there was no noise or disruption that we could tell. The bed was the biggest I've seen - very comfortable. The shower was great - good pressure and temperature. The only slight negative was the really creaky floor - but that was probably worse for who ever was...

"Hotel was fine for a one night stay with good breakfast. Room was clean and reasonably comfortable, though rather small and I found it rather stuffy at night (though an electric fan was available in the room). Hotel is fairly central, convenient if arriving at Colchester Town Station and for town centre. It's not luxury but reasonable value for what I paid. Staff seemed quite welcoming too. "

"Atmosphere was great and hotel was nicely laid out. There were a few areas to improve, such as bathroom cleanliness (suspect hairs from previous guests), and shower head sprayed everywhere. Also the plug in the middle of the bed was a bit strange. But we still had a lovely stay and the dinner and breakfast was excellent."
